Daily Spiritual Meal, On The Menu: Joseph The Dreamer

We need foods so that we can grow and have a healthy body and of course to have focus and strength through out the day. Here in our country food is one of the main necessity specially when we have children at home and sometimes people tend to do something wrong just to warm their stomach. It is very alarming that most of us will do everything just to have a good meal each day either the right or wrong way, we often forgotten what is really important is filling our Spiritual lives. Yes, we need to as much as our body need foods on a daily basis. I have rice and omelet for breakfast, macaroni for lunch, cupcakes for afternoon snack and sour soup for dinner- it is not just complete, but also I have in between snack! What about my Spirituality? I have Acts 5-9 and memorized Acts 5:3-5 for breakfast, sung “I Am Not Ashamed Of The Gospel” for lunch, review Joseph’s life for dinner and later prayer time and devotion with my husband as our midnight snack. As a Sunday School teacher at Lighthouse Baptist Church Cabanatuan City, I have to live what I preached and Joseph is one of the greatest influential person in the King James Version Bible. Joseph is full of character, I always think of him when I have troubles and how he succeed in spite of his circumstances and how he trusted God’s power in his life.

His brother planned to throw him into the pit because they were jealous. But then he was sold to merchantmen and he was sold to Potiphar as a slave. Potiphar trusted Joseph but then his wife eyed on Joseph making him accused of rape and this brought him to prison even if he is not guilty of it. But inside prison, he became as the assistant warden because the keeper of the prison saw that the Lord was with him. The chief butler and chief baker’s dreams were interpreted by Joseph and then there came the time that Pharoah dreamed and no one can interpret it but then the chief butler remembers Joseph and because of his ability Egypt when the time of famine came they are not hungered. Then Joseph became successful and even his brothers came to him as one of his dreams when he was young and bowed on his feet.

I like Joseph’s characteristic and how he face his problems and he trusted God even though things doesn’t turn right. He is very Spiritual that no one can let him down, at his fall he stand and he rises on top. I still believe that Joseph’s characteristic still lives on us and we can also overcome circumstances by not compromising and by standing on the principles that we can learn on KJV Bible, good thing there is a sale on-going at Omf Literature (site: http://omflit.com/home/events.php?i=169)and discover how KJV Bible change your life like mine, from nothing to something.

Tomorrow there will be a DQ cake on our table and I’m so excited to try one because I love their blizzards and I’m sure I gonna love the cake!

Saute Pechay

Sometimes simple preparation of food got our tongue with its unique and distinctive taste. We learned a very simple preparation for pechay from Singapore. You just need:

a bunch of pechay, washed and trimmed

1 clove garlic, minced

2 tsp sesame oil

Saute garlic in sesame oil and add pechay when garlic turned into golden brown and served with sambal chili or chili-garlic sauce.
